Blood Cult is a religious and fanatical group that reveres blood and power. The reverence for power is similar to Dual Martial Forces.
History[]
An organization belonging to the Forces Of Evil. It is the successor of the Red Sacred Sect (or Red Mysterious Sect) that originated from the west. The Red Sacred Sect was a prominent group among the Forces of Evil. However, it was destroyed by the Forces Of Evil and the Murim in an attempt to seize the Soul Shifting Technique that was rumored to bestow immortality. One of the survivors, Ma Yeon-hwa, vowed to avenge the destruction of the sect. The Blood Cult was founded by Ma Yeon-hwa's husband, Baek Wol the first Blood Demon. Baek Wol had two sons with Ma Yeon-hwa, Baek Chun-kang and Baek Ji-woong.
Despite being the eldest son, Baek Chun-kang wasn't interested in leading the Blood Cult and instead, passed the civil service examination and became an official for the Tang Dynasty. The Tang emperor gave him a jade plaque of a flying crane.
Several centuries later, the Flying Moon Crane family were persecuted along with the rest of the murim by the new emperor. The Blood Cult saved the Flying Moon Crane family, but the latter joined the Dual Martial Forces faction. One reason was that Baek Chun-kang's descendants did not wish to be associated with the Blood Cult, while the Blood Cult did not want any competitors for the leadership position.
Ironically a century later, Baek Chun-kang's descendant, Jin Woon-hwi became the 16th Blood Demon, as well as the Murim Alliance Leader, and the leader of Dual Martial Forces faction. As a new Blood Demon he decided to change the path of Blood Cult from the public enemy to the martial organization like a Dual Martial Forces. Even according to Do Jang-Ho, Woon-Hwi was a first Blood Demon skilled not only in martial arts but also in leadership. Impressively, he held all three positions simultaneously for a while. Eventually, he chose to lead only the Dual Martial Forces faction and abdicated the position of the Blood Demon in favor of Baek Hye-Hyang.
Myst, Might, Mayhem[]
A century later, the murim suffered a great and fatal damage from the Great Disaster, called also Day of the Great Calamity. From three major forces the suffered great loses with 80% of their respective forces annihilated which included the Dual Martial Forces. The resulting losses led to its collapse and a reformation.
