At the selection ceremony, the unspoken rule was to distribute talent evenly among the factions. However, Hae-ak-cheon surprised everyone by choosing 27 of the best candidates, leaving only 10 for the others. The decision shocked short-term investors, who had hoped to divide the talent more equitably.

Sang-Woong Koo, the leader of the blood transfusion, tried to intervene diplomatically, arguing that this choice would affect the fairness of the selection. Other elders and leaders also protested, mentioning their influential supporters to pressure Hae-ak-cheon to reconsider his decision. However, he remained unmoved and scoffed at the complaints, suggesting that those who felt wronged should come and protest in person.

One of the disgruntled, Hakjeonggyeom, tried to challenge the decision, citing his master, Lee Jong-seo Galma, but was quickly silenced by Hae-ak-cheon’s domineering attitude. He directly threatened Hakjeonggyeom, causing the man to hesitate and retreat. This confrontation demonstrated Hae-ak-cheon's absolute power, leaving the others speechless.

While the short-term leaders tried to resist, Han Baek-ha, the Blood Witch, spoke up. She argued that Hae-ak-cheon's excessive choice went against his own statement at the Venerable Star Conference, where he had stated that he did not want to form a faction. Her intervention rekindled the hopes of the other leaders, as she was the only one with enough influence to challenge Hae-ak-cheon.

Surprisingly, he admitted his intention to increase his own power, taking everyone by surprise, including Han Baek-ha. Before his regression, Hae-ak-cheon had never tried to expand his influence, preferring to act independently. Now, his decision could change the balance of power within the Blood Cult, which until now had been controlled by ten top executives.

This revelation left Baekryeon-ha, another important figure, visibly surprised. His ambition to become the cult leader could be threatened by Hae-ak-cheon’s strengthening. For the other masters and factions, this meant a significant change in the power structure.

Sodamgeom realized that this was a unique opportunity to assess the strengths of each side. If both sides tried to persuade Hae-ak-cheon, it would be possible to better understand their positions and strategic advantages. While some were still trying to comprehend the situation, Han Baek-ha finally accepted the new scenario and retreated, leaving the short-term leaders with no options.

In the end, the remaining 10 candidates were distributed among the other leaders, but their quality was inferior to those chosen by Hae-ak-cheon. He then instructed Song Ja-baek to take care of the new recruits, which he did enthusiastically.

In the next stage, the selection of high-level warriors began. Six candidates were called to the front to listen to the proposals of the factions before choosing which one to join. This phase depended on the leaders’ persuasive skills.

At this point, Hae-ak-cheon unexpectedly called one of his subordinates and instructed him to convince all six warriors to join him. The order left his subordinate perplexed, as it seemed an impossible task, considering the resistance of the other masters. Still, Hae-ak-cheon was confident that he could accomplish the mission.

Faced with this challenge, his subordinate realized that Hae-ak-cheon was testing his negotiation and influence skills. He pondered the best approach to ensure that the warriors chose his side, knowing that failure could result in severe criticism.

The selection ceremony was about to take an even more unpredictable turn.
