Synopsis[]

The protagonist recalls a traumatic event from 12 years ago, when, as a child, he ingested a poisoned elixir. His mother begged the head of the family to find the culprit, but the case was mysteriously hushed up. Now, years later, he confronts Madam Yang, who was involved in the incident.
When accused, Madam Yang denies involvement and tries to defend herself with excuses, but the protagonist notices her hesitation and pressures her. During the confrontation, a woman named Jo Ho-wi, Madam Yang's personal bodyguard, reveals that she was the one who tampered with the elixir, acting on her own to protect the family's interests.
However, Madam Yang takes the blame to protect Jo Ho-wi, demonstrating extreme loyalty between the two women. The protagonist, however, is not fooled by this apparent friendship and justice. He destroys Jo Ho-wi's danjeon, incapacitating her as a martial artist, and forces Madam Yang to ingest a poison, making her dependent on it to survive.
The story shows the cunning and coldness of the protagonist, who not only seeks revenge, but also manipulates the situation to achieve his own goal: to consolidate his position within the family.
