The story follows So Woon-hui, a young martial artist who is caught up in a complex plot involving powerful masters, mysterious artifacts, and ancient secrets of the martial arts world. The story begins with the demonstration of the skills of Sima Ying and Jo Seong-won, two of So Woon-hui's allies, who are able to deal with their enemies effectively. Gwak Gyeong, a respected character, recognizes their talent and is surprised to discover that Sima Ying is a disciple of Namcheon Ho Jong-dae, a renowned swordsman from the past.
During the conversation, So Woon-hui reveals that he possesses the legendary Namcheon Iron Sword, which impresses Gwak Gyeong. However, the sword is in poor condition due to rust, but it still carries great meaning. Gwak Gyeong's admiration suggests that Namcheon Ho Jong-dae was a legendary figure whose actions left a deep mark on the martial arts world.
Next, attention turns to a mysterious artifact: a jade tablet with the image of a flying crane. Gwak Gyeong points out a crucial detail—the shape of the tablet is reminiscent of a full moon. He then mentions the “Biwolyeongjong,” a sect that nearly became one of the “Five Great Kings” of the martial arts world, indicating that its importance was almost comparable to the four great factions of the Musangseong. This suggests that the artifact may be linked to an ancient and forgotten organization, potentially crucial to So Woon-hui’s fate.
The connection between Biwolyeongjong and So Woon-hui’s mother is also brought up, as the name “Ha Sung-woon,” the former leader of the sect, shares the same surname as the protagonist’s mother. This detail piques his curiosity, leading him to question whether there is a blood tie between them. However, before he can investigate further, he and his allies must escape through a secret passage, as their presence has been discovered.
During their escape, the group encounters a formidable enemy: Pa-eung-sa Na Yuk-hyung, a highly dangerous master and expert in the use of a whip. He appears with a group of subordinates and blocks the group's exit. The atmosphere becomes tense when So Woon-hui realizes that his chances of defeating this adversary in direct combat are slim. Nevertheless, he decides to face him alone, leaving Sima Ying and Jo Seong-won to deal with his subordinates.
The clash between So Woon-hui and Na Yuk-hyung begins, and the difference in power between them becomes clear. The first clash between Namcheon's Iron Sword and the enemy's whip reveals that Na Yuk-hyung is on a higher level in terms of strength and skill. The protagonist, however, shows resistance and surprises his opponent by using an advanced innate energy technique, something that Namcheon Ho Jong-dae himself mastered. Still, the fight is far from even, and So Woon-hui realizes he may need to risk his life to defeat this opponent.
