Synopsis[]
Novel[]
The story begins with an intense fight between the protagonist and a masked man. The protagonist blocks and dodges attacks with ease, showing great skill. In a moment of opportunity, he subdues the opponent, immobilizing him and ripping off his mask. The masked man, revealed to be someone in his early 20s, has a scar on his face and demonstrates resistance to pain.
When interrogating the captive, the protagonist discovers that he is part of an elite group and that he has been sent to observe him. The masked man tries to intimidate him, saying that there are allies nearby, but quickly discovers that his subordinates have already been captured by Sima Ying and Jo Seong-won, companions of the protagonist. The captive refuses to reveal information, until Sima Ying uses brutal torture methods, pulling out his fingernails to force him to talk.
Under extreme pain, the prisoner reveals that his name is Yo-eop, Oh-hyeol-seong's second disciple. He admits that he was ordered to keep an eye on the protagonist, but not to harm him. The order came from Baek Hye-hyang, a young woman of high standing who wants the protagonist to become her husband. However, her master, Hwang Gang, does not agree with this idea and orders Yo-eop to create difficulties for the protagonist.
Upon hearing the confession, Sima Ying is furious to learn that Baek Hye-hyang is interested in the protagonist and threatens to kill Yo-eop. However, the protagonist stops her from killing him, realizing that this would only create an excuse for further reprisals.
Meanwhile, in a mansion on the outskirts of the city, Baek Hye-hyang is furious with her subordinates for failing in their mission. Three of her servants are immediately executed by her for disobeying orders. When Yo-eop tries to beg for his life, he is quickly killed by Sang Hyeon-myeong, Hwang Gang's first disciple, who fears that his name will be revealed as an accomplice.
Baek Hye-hyang, angry, punishes Sang Hyeon-myeong for acting without her permission. She physically hurts him, making it clear that he must blindly obey her orders. Even though he is humiliated, he holds a grudge and decides that he needs to eliminate the protagonist, as he sees him as a rival for the position of Baek Hye-hyang's husband.
The next day, the protagonist finds himself at the gate of the Martial Arts Federation castle, where a great tournament is taking place. Thousands of warriors and factions are gathered, including famous sects. Among them is Mo Yong-su, an enemy from his past who had a hand in his death before his reincarnation. The protagonist feels his anger grow when he realizes that he will have the chance to meet him again and settle the score.
With this whirlwind of emotions and conspiracies around him, the story heads towards a great confrontation in the tournament, where the protagonist will have to face enemies from the past and unexpected dangers.

Trivia[]
- They were people from Habukpengga, wearing green armor and carrying swords much larger than the leaf swords at their waists. Could that young man, whose mustache grew prematurely for his age, be Peng Woo-jin, the future chief of Nokhyeondang?
