The story unfolds amidst a web of intrigue and conspiracies in the world of martial arts. The protagonist, who wields the Sodam Sword, realizes that important information has been leaked to him in a suspicious manner. Together with Jo Seong-won and Sima Young, he analyzes the situation and concludes that it is a trap. He also realizes that the same scheme may be being used against Baek Hye-hyang, leader of the Blood Cult, and fears that if she is captured, it will weaken his faction before the internal war is concluded. Faced with this possibility, he decides to find Baek Hye-hyang to warn her, but the problem is locating her without attracting attention. Meanwhile, he and his allies leave the Murim Alliance castle for an appointment with a blacksmith. On the way, Sima Young suggests stopping at the guest house to secure Dongpa pork, something that Jo Seong-won accepts with enthusiasm. However, the protagonist realizes that Sima Young wanted some time alone with him, since she has shown interest in him recently. Pretending not to notice, he tells her to make the reservation while he heads to the street of blacksmiths with Jo Seong-won.
When they arrive at the forge, they notice something strange: the place is abandoned and ransacked. All the equipment and weapons have disappeared, and the five imitation Mukseon swords that the protagonist was hoping to recover are also missing. They wonder if the blacksmith has fled or been kidnapped, but they realize that his exit was hasty and well planned.
As they investigate, the protagonist senses imminent danger. Before he can react, Jo Seong-won is attacked and falls unconscious. Then, an unknown voice orders him not to look back. Even without seeing the attacker, he feels a frightening presence. The enemy, extremely skilled, moves without leaving a trace and blocks all his attacks.
The protagonist realizes that he cannot face him directly and uses a trick to see the enemy's reflection in the blade of his sword. He sees a man dressed in black, whose identity remains a mystery. When he tries to use a powerful technique to escape and call for reinforcements, his opponent intercepts his blade in mid-air with his bare hands, demonstrating superhuman strength and speed.
The situation becomes increasingly dangerous, and the protagonist realizes that he may be facing an enemy far beyond his level. His plan to warn Baek Hye-hyang and deal with the ongoing conspiracy is further complicated by this new threat.
