Novel[]
After intense negotiations, Kwak Hyung-jik, leader of Bukyungdoseong, finally accepts the protagonist's proposal, but with one condition: he will not help the Blood Sect. For Hyung-jik, his political position and integrity are non-negotiable. The protagonist, having no way to argue, accepts this limitation. With the negotiations concluded, the group quickly leaves Muhansi, as staying there was a risk, especially with the presence of the Blood Demon Sword.
The sword, imbued with the spirit of a blood demon, continues to show itself to be an extremely willful and dangerous entity. Its power is so intense that, when the protagonist tries to entrust it to Song Ja-baek, the latter's blood vessels collapse, showing that only the protagonist can hold it. Despite the risks, the group continues to travel without rest for three days and three nights, finally arriving near the city of Hongho.
To reach Hunan province, they must cross the Yangtze River. An escape route had already been prepared using a boat at one of the docks south of the city. However, upon arriving, they found their horses exhausted and unable to continue the journey. Song Ja-baek expressed relief at finally being able to rest, but Hae-ak-cheon, the protagonist's master, did not allow the mission to lose its rhythm. During the journey, the group faced small internal conflicts, with provocations between the Blood Demon Sword and Sodamgeom, another legendary weapon.
Upon arriving at the small village where the boat was waiting for them, they encountered a new obstacle: the thick fog over the river prevented navigation, making it impossible to leave immediately. In addition, the boat may not be ready yet, as the group arrived earlier than expected. Hae-ak-cheon, recognizing the situation, decided that everyone should rest there for a night. During the meal, consisting of fried pork, dried rice and strong drink, exhaustion began to weigh on the protagonist.
It is at this point that Hae-ak-cheon asks to examine the Blood Demon Sword. When he holds it, his blood vessels instantly bulge, forcing him to drop the sword. This phenomenon confirms the peculiarity of the weapon: only the protagonist can wield it. The situation arouses Hae-ak-cheon's suspicions, who directly questions the protagonist about his true identity. He asks if the young man is really the heir of Ikyang Soga, insinuating that his lineage may be linked to the Blood Sect. The revelation is surprising, as only the head of the Ikyang family and the protagonist himself knew this secret. Song Ja-baek tries to intercede, but is abruptly silenced by Hae-ak-cheon.
Hae-ak-cheon's suspicions are based on the nature of the Blood Demon Sword. According to him, this sacred weapon can only be wielded by those who carry the blood of the Blood Sect. This revelation puts the protagonist in a delicate position, as he does not know how to respond. In his mind, the Blood Demon Sword begins to laugh, hinting that there is something hidden in his bloodline that he himself is unaware of. The protagonist is reluctant to believe this possibility, because although his mother is a descendant of the Biwolyeongjong, she has never had any connection with the Blood Sect.
Before the protagonist can process this information, a new threat arises. Vice-Commander Lee Gyu notices something strange in his own body and alerts the group: his internal energy is scattered and unable to focus on the danjeon. Alarm spreads among the other members of the group, who quickly check their own conditions. Soon, everyone realizes that their internal energy has been compromised. Hae-ak-cheon, frowning, diagnoses the problem: they have been poisoned by a rare and dangerous poison called San Gong.
The revelation throws the group into a state of high alert. Being poisoned with San Gong means that their ability to use martial arts is severely compromised, leaving them vulnerable. With enemies possibly lurking, and the crossing of the river still pending, the situation becomes critical. The protagonist, who was already burdened with doubts about his origin, now has to deal with an even more immediate threat: survive the effects of the poison and find a solution before his enemies take advantage of his weakness.
The story ends with a growing sense of danger and uncertainty. Between the treacherous fog of the Yangtze River and the doubts about his own lineage, the protagonist finds himself at the center of an increasingly complex web of conspiracies. What really runs through his veins? And how can he escape this deadly situation before his enemies catch up with him?
