Ho Jong-Dae, the Southern Heavenly Swordsman, a skilled swordsman who shook the province of Yunnan using Southern Heaven Iron Sword.
Appearance[]
History[]
He was a famous swordsman who shook Yunnan with just one sword, South Heavenly Iron Sword. He was such a great warrior with a larger-than-life reputation that even 15 years after he disappeared, his name still held prestige and his disciple was treated with respect and awe. If he did not disappear, the widespread opinion is that he would have become one of the Eight Great Master. He was challenged almost everyday.
He had a rivalry with Hae Ak-Cheon, who was unable to beat him and, according to Ha Seong-woon, would visit to provoke him regularly. Hae Ak-Cheon was so obsessed with beating Jong-Dae that he would rob the Luminous Star Sword Art book from Jong-Dae's residence. This led Jong-Dae to complete the technique by fixing its weak points and further evolved it. Jong-Dae does acknowledge Hae Ak-Cheon's footwork technique, which allows him to walk on steep mountain like flat ground, something Jong-Dae could not do.
He was suppose to fight Ha Seong-woon, the head of the Flying Moon Sect. However, due to the conflict within the Dual Martial Forces, it never happened, leaving Jong-Dae disappointed.
He also had a rivalry with the Blade of Northern Sun, Kwak Hyeong-Jik, where the south was the Southern Heavenly Swordsman while the north was the Blade of Northern Sun, though the extent of the rivalry is unknown.
He defeated Na Yuk-Hyun, who was as dangerous as one of the Four Great Evils. He had a good relationship with Joho strong Hand, Kwak Gyung and felt horrible after he disappeared 20 years ago after their family was annihilated.
He was a role model for many people, especially in the Justice Faction, with disciples of Sects calling him Teacher/Mentor. In particular, Mount Hyeong Sect and its founder Cho Jung-un revered him since Jong-Dae helped him 20 years back (presumably during the war with the Blood Cult) and could not hide his happiness after being told that Jong-Dae praised him.
Abilities[]
He is very skilled and rose into prominence without any assistance. Hae Ak-Cheon, one of the strongest member and Elders of the Blood Cult could not beat him, even after stealing his Sword Art book. He was very close to crossing the wall and would have crossed it and became one of the Eight Great Master if he did not die.
He uses innate qi, similar to internal qi but with more advatanges, which he could only feel within a month after intentionally destroying his own dantien. His technique is the Luminous Star Sword Art, reaching the six out of eight level.
Absolute Sword Sense[]
His disappearance was finally revealed by South Heavenly Iron Sword to Woon-Hwi. One day, Jong-Dae received a nameless challenge letter with a place and time of the challenge, along with a flower with its stem cut in half, leaving him nervous. He went to the promised place despite not knowing the person and lost within 40 seconds to a man with one golden eye who looked to be around his 20s. Afterwards, he was on the verge of death after sustaining sever injuries and tried to recover in a cave. It was then that Han Ji-Sang appeared before him and made him a proposition to hand over his martial art techniques. Due to how weak he was, Jong-Dae was tempted since he had always wanted a successor so he said he would teach Ji-Sang if he promised to pass down the techniques to a worthy successor. However, after Ji-Sang received his teachings, he changed his mind and broken both of Jong-Dae's legs, arm, and jaws causing the Southern Heaven Swordsman to perish.
