Storm Shadow Eight Forms Order

Storm Shadow Eight Forms Order is one of the four major ruling clans within the Dual Martial Forces. Founded by the Jin Family, it remains closely associated with them to this day. The clan is based in the legendary Mushang Castle.

Background[]

Despite the Seventh Leader of the Storm Shadow Eight Forms Order taking part in the extermination of the Flying Crane Moon Order, the two clans were ultimately united through the marriage of the future Eighth Leader, Jin Song-Baek, to Ha Ryong, the heiress of the Flying Crane Moon Order. This reconciliation was solidified under the Ninth Leader, Jin Woon-Hwi, who carried the blood of both clans within him. As a result, the Storm Shadow Eight Forms Order became - by both law and blood - a family tied to the Blood Cult.

Leader Jin Song-Baek also adopted So Yong-Yong, the daughter of his late wife. As a result, the clan ultimately came to consist of four bloodlines:

The Jin Clan bloodline (Storm Shadow's founding lineage)
The Blood Demon's bloodline (inherited through Ha Ryong)
The So Clan bloodline (carried by the adopted heir, So Yong-Yong)
The Sima Clan bloodline (caried by the Woon-hwi's wife, Sima Young)

Despite sharing the 'So' surname, even if So Yong-Yong had descendants who inherited the name, her family line would be considered entirely separate from the Ikyang So family - having officially severed all ties with them.

Legacy[]

The most essential and distinctive techniques of this clan are demonstrated by Heartless Wind God: the Wind Shadow Steps and Wind Shadow - Eight Forms. These are the strongest and fastest movement-type martial arts in history.

Jin Woon-Hwi passed down all his martial arts, except those from Dohwaseon, to his heirs. As a result, techniques like Ho Jong-Dae’s swordsmanship and Han Jisang’s Silver Thread arts became exclusive to the Dual Martial Forces.

The addition of his wife Sima Young to the Storm Shadow Eight Classes Order further elevated their status. Her father’s technique, the Moonless Void Sword, also became exclusive to the faction.

He also left for his descendants his greatest work Thought-Shattering Eight Techniques. Those techniques if mastered correct can make user even to Life and Death realm.

Because of becoming one family with the Blood Cult, Jin clan also gained access to Blood Heavenly Sura Arts. They were also heirs of the Blood Demon so by law they could practice this magnificent martial art.

Myst Might Mayhem[]

Over the centuries, due to countless upheavals and calamities, the Storm Shadow Eight Forms Order fractured into three branches:

The Jin Family (Original Lineage)
- The most prominent branch, though they lost key inheritances such as:
  - Silver Thread
  - Moonless Void Sword
  - Thought-Shattering Eight Techniques
- However, they retained the rest of their legacy and, most crucially, became the sole inheritors of the Blood Heavenly Sura Arts.
The Moon Vein (Accidental Successors)
- This branch emerged by chance, inheriting the most critical legacy - the Thought-Shattering Eight Techniques - along with a fragmentary version of the Moonless Void Sword.
- Later, thanks to Sima Chak teaching the Heavenly Demon, they obtained the complete, ultimate version of Moonless Void Sword.
The Wind God Clan (Revivalist Branch)
- Founded by a disciple of the descendant of the Jin Family, this branch most faithfully embodies the original Storm Shadow Eight Forms Order - as it existed under Jin Song-Baek’s leadership, before the reforms introduced by Jin Woon-Hwi.
- In terms of martial arts and legacy, Great Guardian Ma Ra-hyeon ascended as the new Wind God, restoring the Order’s former glory.

Explanation[]

A century later, the murim suffered a great and fatal damage from the Great Disaster, called also Day of the Great Calamity. From three major forces the suffered great loses with 80% of their respective forces annihilated which included the Dual Martial Forces. The resulting losses led to its collapse. Among the surviving members of the Dual Martial Forces, entirely new clans began to emerge, each drawing upon the legacy of their predecessors. Three of these clans rose to dominance, uniting the rest under their banner: Moon Vein, Heavenly Vein, and Earth Vein. Each of these clans based their martial arts on an incomplete version of the Moonless Void Sword. Moon Vein also gained access to Thought-Shattering Eight Techniques. They were even able to decode and master part of the techniques included in coded manual. Because of that they partly became a successors of the Storm Shadow Eight Forms Order legacy.

The Jin family survived the catastrophe but was severely weakened. They lost all access to the Moonless Void Sword, as well as the Thought-Shattering Eight Techniques - a legacy left by their ancestor Jin Woon-Hwi, meant to enable mastery even at the Life and Death Realm. The last living descendant of the Sima Young, Jin Ye-Rin, joined forces with loyalists of the Blood Cult, who had since become part of the newly formed Evil Alliance.

Jin Ye-Rin took Ma Ra-hyeon as her official disciple, imparting to him all the martial arts associated with Jin Song-Baek, along with a portion of the Luminous Star Sword Technique. Regarding heritage and legacy, Ma Ra-hyeon became the rightful successor to the Heartless Wind God and the entire Storm Shadow Eight Classes Order. In a similar situation, Jin Woon-hwi inherited the mantle of the Southern Heavenly Swordsman - despite sharing no blood ties with his predecessor, and never even meeting him. He joined the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult and founded a new clan, the Wind God Clan, built entirely upon the legacy he had inherited. This same clan later rose to become a Great Guardian Family - protecting the Leading Family of the Demonic Cult. Notably, this Leading Family also traces its lineage back to the Moon Vein.
